Mishkan

INTRO:

What is Mishkan?
Mishkan is a Hebrew word which means Family, and this is not only limited to a physical biological family, but can also be a spiritual family
And this here is a group of disciples of Yeshua, who meets online every Shabat at the beginning and the end for some hours of worship together.
Some are only listening, others are serving with their gifts in music, so do I.

The online quality is not the best so I decided to record my part offline and share it in a respectable quality.

The Music:
My setup is simple yet somehow complicated for probably most the others.
I have two microphones, one for vocals and the other for the ukulele and the guitar. Not the best combination when ukulele have to share the same microphone as they are sounding very different in tone and volume. But somehow it works. Then there is the bleeding of the vocals into the guitar microphone and vice versa. All the cable spaghetti sometimes gives some hassle and eventually some other noise into the recording.  With the very limited space it’s not so easy to change the instruments. The piano sits on the desk and covers part of the screens. The microphones are connected via an audio interface to the computer and through Nuendo, a DAW (music software), I mix the things and also adds virtual instruments like strings, pads and organ (which might change from time to time).  The microphone for the guitar is half way in the way of the piano, which makes it not the easiest to play.
Nevertheless, long story short, at the end the music mix gets into the online device and at the same time recorded offline directly in the computer.
I may not be able to post every week all performances, but I will try to add at least two per month.

Enjoy

As they are also posted online on different video platforms,  the music will be on video (possibly most of them just private to safe space and performance on my server), if not, it will be only mp3 audio.
